Having worked for Gilbane Building Company with David Kessinger for ten years, Rick Avila, Senior Project Manager, joined CK Construction, Inc. in 2006 when it was incorporated by David and local joint venture partner, Tomas Cardenas, of ECM International.   Soon after, Alma Castillo brought her years of experience in project engineering from Clint ISD.  Alma expanded her capabilities to now manage the financial and HR duties in the company.

In 2007, Victor Olmedo joined CK as lead foreman and supervisor for tenant improvement interiors.  He is now the company’s Area Superintendent.  Our most experienced Superintendent, David Espinoza, has forty-plus years in the specialty and carpentry trades.

In 2011, David Kessinger bought out Tomas Cardenas so he could continue his Construction Management ownership role with ECM International.  The company continues to grow.  Ben Soto joined CK Construction, Inc. many years ago specializing in interior finishes and later working as a Superintendent.  He is currently in the San Antonio, Texas area working as the Area Manager.  He works with Superintendent, Thomas Heard, on our central Texas projects.  Thomas, a U.S. Marine veteran, joined CK four years ago as a day laborer.  Our newest Superintendent, Steven Alvarez, brings his many years of construction experience to the team.  Vicente Rueda has recently come on board to be our project engineer, handling, processing and distributing contract related quality control and project documentation.  

The greatest strength of CK Construction, Inc., is the experience and working knowledge of its long-time employees.  Our core team has worked continuously for the past nineteen years.   This extended employee retention has created a family-like environment that excels in supporting our owners, our community, our trade contractors, and our company employees.  Flexibility with the group allows the team to share duties, keeping overhead down and competitiveness high.  As a testament to our resilience, CK had 100% employee retention during COVID as our “family” continued working

Through the 19-plus years of business, CK Construction, Inc. has completed over 400 projects utilizing the combined 200 years of experience to smoothly contract projects while identifying and resolving complications and guaranteeing the highest quality result exceeding the Owner’s expectations.
